Obituary of Phyllis Ann Spellbrink

 

DANVILLE - Phyllis Spellbrink, 70, of Danville dies at 5:36 a.m. Wednesday (May 4, 2005) at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville.

She was born July 9, 1934 in Hertz, IN, the daughter of James and Mildred Carmack. She married George Junior Spellbrink May 21, 1960 in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death in Oct. 2004. Survivors include: 2 sons, Raymond (Cindy) Spellbrink, Springfield, IL, Wayne Carmack, IN; a daughter, Connie (David) Arlington, Danville, IL; grandchildren: Matthew Spellbrink, Springfield; Cierra Lockhart, Jonah and Jackie Arlington, Danville; Justin and Nathan Carmack, Indianapolis IN. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Mrs. Spellbrink was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards, talking on the phone and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Church of God Independent in Tilton.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Church of God Independent of Tilton, 210 Eighth St., Tilton. The Rev. Linda Hallett will officiate. There will be no visitation.
Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St., Danville, is handling arrangements.

Obituary of George Junior Spellbrink

George Junior Spellbrink, 67, of Danville, passed this life at 10:12 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 9, 2004) at Provena USMC, Logan campus.

He was born Dec. 10, 1936, in Chicago, the son of George and L. Margaret Moore Spellbrink. He resided in Danville for 45 years. He married Phyllis A. Carmack May 21, 1960, in Danville. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Raymond (Cindy) Spellbrink of Springfield; a daughter, Connie (David) Arlington of Danville; a sister, Martha (Ray) Martini of Poplar Grove; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

George attended school in Chicago. He was a New York Mets fan and enjoyed NASCAR and collecting baseball cards.

George retired from the custodial department from Danville Area Community College after 18 years of service.

He was a member of the Church of God Independent of Tilton.

Per his wishes, he was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St.; Officiating: Rev. Linda Hallett.
